that’s very interesting, thank you for sharing!
this comment genuinely reminded me that i need to both find my choker and finish installing linux on my x230t
do folks do pc builds inside of old CRT cases? that seems like a niche that should exist.
there’s something so funny about them both being apple products, but the offending party getting the disrespect of “this stupid antique computer”
oh holy christ i’ve never actually seen it before just now. it does have a certain “placeholder” vibe to it.
Nintype, although technically it’s the half baked community revival “Keyboard 71”
It has a lot of minor issues but it’s the only keyboard that does simultaneous two finger swiping. the learning dictionary is really good too. i can consistently type around 100wpm accurately with it.
it plays really well with proton, i have 168 hours all on linux. it’s THE GAME that fully convinced me visuals don’t matter at all if the gameplay is tight.
My dad has a friend try to talk him into amway sometime in the late 80s/early 90s. He had painted a pyramid shape onto cinder blocks in his basement to explain the revenue stream and everything.
He said no, but that friend ended up high enough in a payment chain that he’s still rich as sin, and my dad got to be one of the scant few that turned down what would’ve actually been a lucrative business venture in a pyramid scheme.
tangential but, when i was teenage-ish i had a friend of a friend that was always kind of standoffish with me. i’m a people pleaser so i was always looking for some way to connect with this guy, but i reckon that was coming across in a weird/bad way.
anyway at one point i found out we had the same birthday, year and everything! i thought it was pretty neat, but he thought i was lying. i got really insistent because from my perspective i had no reason to lie about something so mundane, and ig that rubbed him the wrong way because iirc he never spoke to me again.
“young bond for gamers” already sounds so hilariously out of touch.
if he’s not cranking 90s and hitting the griddy then he’ll NEVER be the young bond for THIS gamer.
Mission to Zyxx and The Orbiting Human Circus. Both absolute masterpieces in their own ways.
i’m a photoshop simp who straight up couldn’t use GIMP because of the clunky UI, but after switching to linux i’m an avid photogimp advocate.
It’s as complicated as you make it to be, and that’s gonna vary WILDLY per person lmao
If you did it with someone else’s photo and THEY said it was doxxing, I think I’d be inclined to side with them. Since it’s your own photo I reckon you get to decide whether or not it’s doxxing.
I’d hesitate to do it myself, but I send a lot of lemmy posts to my friends, who are very intentionally not all equally apprised of my interests/identity lmao
could do tiered categories! low, mid, and high spec or something.
scrubbing floors with an RC car still sounds pretty cool
ah yes, “The Cheater’s OS” as us linux-heads like to call it
i’m using photogimp and haven’t looked back, it’s surprisingly robust
