    It’s the part about how torturing animals is “life preserving” that I understand the least.

      Like I said couldn’t think of a better term. Maybe life affirming, similar to screwing after watching an execution. The taste of death making everything sweeter? I’m not really sure on this one, but it falls into that dodged death camp. It can be pretty intense.
