I wanted to get the Lemmy community’s opinions on this, because I made a comment 2 months ago, wishing for someone with these qualities to replace Joe Biden who at the time wasn’t considering dropping out. I will be holding myself accountable to my pledges.

Text posts aren’t allowed, articles only. There is a new group coming, currently called “Politic” for discussions like this, but I hear they may be having a name change.

Once there’s a stable name for it, I’ll throw up a sticky post on it.

The bar has been set so low at this point that anyone under 65 who is not a literal Nazi would seem spry and progressive lol

As an Oakland resident, she’s always been very middle-of-the-road by local Bay Area standards… but I guess that counts as “progressive” nationally.

    Spry, fuck yes.

Progressive, in a lot of ways yes. Even just looking at what her and Biden have accomplished, pushing and pushing for student loan reform, climate action, judges, drug costs, infrastructure, cannabis reform (off the top of my head), it’s a lot more than we’ve gotten from some other administrations.

Obviously there are always ways she could be MORE progressive for my taste, and she’s not an AOC or Bernie, but she’s good uh… well, progress.
