    i find it strange that there would be shots fired and the perpetrator would survive to tell a tale.

    on the other hands, the secret service agents must despise that dipshit more than anyone, since he willingly put their lives at risk multiple times, so i have hard time imagining they would be in on any sort of pre-planned PR show,

      The guy was behind a fence, with just the barrel of the gun poking through, so it’s not too surprising their shots missed.

        The effective range of an AK-47 is 380 yards. The shots were taken somewhere between 300 and 500 yards. I don’t think the shooter had a chance of making that shot and it is more likely that he was just trying to make himself famous.

          Yeah, probably not. But would-be assassins aren’t necessarily the sharpest people around.

            that’s survivorship bias… we just don’t know the names and faces of the smart ones ;)
