Each branch has its own partisan tilt - Air Force / Marines favoring the GOP, Army / Navy trending Dem - with career brass tending to play coy on their politics so they can survive Senate confirmation to those top ranks.

Hiding behind the law to escape doing what’s morally right is awfully convenient. Especially since he’s not saying this for free, he’s selling a book.
