I’d say the same thing if racists endorse Trump. An endorsement doesn’t mean the candidate becomes the same as the person endorsing them. Plenty of questionable people endorse candidates from all parties. I try to judge a candidate based on their own actions, not on the people who endorse them.
I’m not always successful at it though. Plenty of very rude and hateful people here endorse Harris, and it has turned me off of the Democratic Party quite a bit. I guess it’d depend on the candidate, but ugh, Lemmy has done the Dem Party no favors.
I have heard much more hateful comments from Dems than Repubs here–one even went so far as to accuse me and say that I’m “proud to be aligned with KKK grand wizard David Duke” just because of this article. And I didn’t even post this article.
And I expect hateful comments like that to continue as a result of this comment I’ve just written. lol
Why? She has nothing to do with him, and the party even said so. From the article:
