All of my little cousins and nephews watch streamers. To them it’s more fun to watch someone play than to play most times. They don’t like dealing with challenging games all the time, they really just want to have fun. These kids do play games but they watch more than me so I tried watching some streamers and I get it. When I was growing up we had systems with multiple controller ports and no online. Online gaming was PC only until I went to college and console online took off. But growing up you had to bring your friends or cousins to play some Mario Kart 64. That was way different than playing with randoms online. Streamers kinda brings that connection back.

Nintendo isn’t know for handling “the internet” very well. Just look at their online services compared to their competitors over the years. We still use friend codes ffs.

Personally I don’t give a shit about Musk. I don’t care about any celebrities but I try to not hate any of them because that’s way too much attention I’m giving to someone who is so insignificant to me. I’m just always aware of them from being on these social media sites because there’s always a legion of fans and haters. Maybe I’m really just complaining about social media and wish we were in the time of MySpace. Things were simple then and the internet was wild and untamed.

Can’t wait for Codeberge to figure out federation on Activity Pub. Then other groups of people can host their own instance while we slowly move away from centralized repo hosts.

I’m there because some of my favorite streamers, like MentalOutlaw, are there. I know there will be people who hold an opinion or view that i disagree with but the same is true here. I’m not saying that there is hate speech here but i can’t expect every site i visit to be sunshines and rainbows just for me.

I use KeePassXC and a Yubikey 5. You can store a certain number of 2fa on the key but i also back up the secret key and recovery codes on KeePassXC which is backed up on my Nextcloud. When using the Yubikey there is an app on desktop and mobile that reads they key but doesn’t store the codes. Open the app, plug in the key, the TOTP appears, take the key out and the TOTP is gone.

Apply to non-tech companies. There ate many companies who aren’t in the tech sector that relies on in-house tech.

Yes. Steam Deck is based on Arch linux. I even have PyCharm installed.
