Pop!_OS is built different than other distros, I only had to apply 1 tweak and was minor AF. Honestly, if they were up to date with Ubuntu, I’d still be using that banger distro. First they must build COSMIC, their Rust based DE.
Just a dude who believes in the Fediverse over standard Social Media sites! I’m a fan of horror, cute animals, and handsome lads.

With tweaking, I’m sure most games would be just fine running on the Steam Deck. It’s just a matter of figuring out the right settings.
I find older Windows games have the most issues like Oblivion or Morrowind if you install the stock standard GOTY. However, there’s an open version of Morrowind that can be run via Lutris its just a bitch to get Lutris to work. Persistence is key.
Gaming on Linux has drastically improved. I’m still cautious about buying non-native games and running them via Proton, but I am no longer worried about not having access to cool games! Proton is one of the best innovations that Valve came out with thanks to their Steam Deck. It makes non-native games feel like native titles, most of the time my save data is intact, and I can just pick up where I left off. It’s rare that I can’t use an older save if I am using Proton to play a game.
I have no sympathy for this man, he deserves to pay the price for saying spouting so many lies and misinformation about Sandy Hook. They aren’t likely real tears because he’s just a husk of a person. It’s a shame it took this long for it to happen.
Shudder I remember those dark days…I despise my state for letting that even come to pass. I remember voting for someone else instead of Brownback for this reason.
I didn’t think they were going to go full bore and attempt to protect a very guilty Netanyahu; Republicans, I expected that because of who they are, we know what they are like. 42 Democrats is an eye-raising number. It won’t stop me for voting blue because the alternative is truly worse. However, it does give me pause while reading the article. The shit going down in the Middle East is clearly not kosher in the slightest, Netanyahu is a person of interest.
For once this person who in my mind is synonymous with ‘bleach blonde, bad built, butch body’ has said something I agree with; Ironic that she is also part of the problem, it’s factually accurate at least.
Reading the live updates warmed the cockles of my heart! The fact this jury did its job based on all the evidence is great. That orange troll deserved this, I hope the sentencing is something that will humiliate Trump to the max; I feel so happy that this shit burglar is getting this verdict.
ROFL Tragic, I hope these fools awaken from the terrible collective nightmare they’re trapped in!
Republicans love punching down whenever possible, I hope all those jerks get booted out of office!
In my mind there is no generous interpretation of his words as there is a paragraph which makes his statement worse in my opinion.
In a state where 18 is not old enough to drink, Edwards believes girls at 16 are old enough to get married.
He wants marriage to 16 year olds to be legal; I don’t believe this is a good thing, especially if he also then argued for parental consent for marriages to adult men. It’s a huge red flag to me, personally.
I’m deeply familiar with them it’s never been in their nature to say the quiet part out loud in front of everyone! Rather it’s projecting their desires on others to vilify them, hopefully their looser tongues sink their ship. 🤢
Always have been, however without facing real consequences they’ve grown way too bold!
I’m at a loss for words. How did this man not get shouted down for saying that out loud and in public?! Those are the thoughts of a predator, which is a position of power.
I don’t want to fully paint every company in a corrupt light (some might be on the up and up, but an employee or two may be scummy AF). It would be inept of said company to not notice their employees colluding with Trump, but not necessarily intentionally corrupt. I’m a weird ass cynic with idealistic tendencies, make of that what you will.
ROFL I wasn’t even surprised, honestly was keeping up with the news to see when the big story about the fraud that this firm engaged in. Almost everything that man has something to do with this sketchy as fuck!
Good, this is a necessary step to curbing their power granted to them by wealth…More of these assholes need to pay their fair share instead of dodging their responsibility. Good things like better healthcare and other social safety nets could be funded with that financial excess; if only our politicians were on board with those great ideas, hopefully, we can vote the good ones into office. (I’m an odd mix of cynic and idealist, this is truly a farfetched idea at the moment).
It’s a big YMMV experience with Linux, it just boiled down to mental load in comparison to Windows; Remembering all manner of commands and how to do certain things, along with that subset of hostile Linux users on help forums has made it an OS that I will use only in a dire situation. Linux is mostly for those who aren’t afraid to tinker with the OS and have time to figure out what the hell is wrong with their PC in case of a strange situation occurring. Ubuntu worked really well for me for years (except the times it didn’t, and I Googled my way to a solution each time). I did miss the ease of installing games and just having them work without extra steps (a common issue for most games). I also expanded my console games library so that the game variety is not lacking.
Windows is admittedly easier to maintain, and I never have any encountered any major concerns since the Windows 7 days and once while on Windows 10. As far as compatibility goes, I know most of my Steam and GOG libraries are compatible with Linux, since I’ve a tendency to buy games which are supported on Linux. I made sure to give myself a decent library as a result in case Microsoft screwed the pooch enough that I needed to go back to a Linux distro.
Microsoft’s own incompetence has made Windows 11 a failure. The system requirements really made it a flop (possibly an intentional part of their plan to boost hardware sales but create a ton of e-waste as a result). I’m running Windows 11 as my PC meets the specs, it’s not a bad OS persay as it works for my day to day needs. However, if I didn’t game on PC I would probably switch completely to Linux. I stay on Windows as it is for the time being convenient to do so. If the next version of Windows has a dire increase in regards to specifications…I would likely go back to Ubuntu!
Its only one LTS Version behind, but its still very usable. I have confidence that COSMIC is going to be just as easy to use as Pop!_OS is now. This gives them an opportunity to make even more changes that will improve the end user experience. The System76 team knows what they are doing and won’t release a busted product.
