IMO Path of Exile 2 is kind of like “Diablo 4 classic”.

Sure it lack some QoL just because it wants to be old school but it nails the mood of the older Diablo games.

I also played Diablo 4 and there is no way I will return to that game. They clearly don’t have a good formula anymore.

I thought it was fairly obvious that it is irrelevant to mention NFT games from years ago. The issue here is that Ubisoft just released their NFT games.

I checked anyway and couldn’t find any major publisher releasing that types of game in 2024. Only small NFT games from structures that are smaller than 100 people. Ubisoft has like 18k people working for them.

Also the most expensive “card” for this NFT game is supposed to be 50000$. So that’s also the insane pricing and pay to win model associated with that game that makes it particularly egregious.

Don’t worry Ubisoft is also working hard to become a bargain to buy.

They are still on their obsession of NFT games that’s how disconnected they are from their playerbase.

The Official client was mid at best and hundred of thousands of people where on various third party apps.

Then Spez wanted to sell API access to train AI so it became prohibitively expensive for most third party reddit clients to continue.

So I didn’t want to use their app and on top of that it was to sell my data to AI businesses.

I actually wanted to nuke all my comments to be sure they couldn’t use them but didn’t manage to do it reliably.

But yeah the fact that they completely killed the reddit client I used just to sell my data for AI training was the last straw for me.

Also reddit was getting quite toxic especially in some subreddits IMO.

I just got to say this website is a nightmare. At least 4 popups overlays just opening the article. The remove ads button just leaves the article and offer you to pay to remove ads. There is also delayed popups appearing while you read the article…

Dude saw the project of his life absolutely destroyed by Reddit. I can understand he just wants to move to the next chapter of his life.

Sure a bit of communication is always appreciated but it’s already pretty cool he ported the app to Lemmy.

I usually don’t use lightly the word “scam” but in my opinion it was a scam at release. It was barely playable during the free WE I tried it. Even simple things like binding Keyboard keys wasn’t working properly. Flying an helicopter felt impossible despite hundreds of hours doing so in previous games. Full of bugs and far from any emblematic BF games. A terrible experience to the point I thought I had opened the wrong game on metacritic and just couldn’t believe we played the same game as these reviewers.

Now my hope is that DICE drops the license and some other studios tries to do something more authentic and polished. The recent Delta Force release despite its shortcomings makes me hopeful that other studios than EA/DICE has interest in this type of games.

But the critics said it was a great game at release. Remember that IGN?

It’s at this point that I understood some big reviewers are mostly bullshit.

Just realistic. The average PC player uses a lot steam and organize their gaming around that. My wishlist is also where I put games I want to follow and track their development. Sure they could have their own private forums or discord community but honestly they are missing out on visibility.

It is a fact at this point that steam wishlisting system helped tremendously some games to keep their inertia and hype going until release or early access.

Still the most respectful way to release a game is when it’s baked. Not some abomination that takes 5 years after release to hit it’s target.

I admire the perseverance but still they knew their game was lightyears away from being finished and they released it anyway.

If we accept studios releasing unfinished games as long as they fix it later on… That’s all we are gonna get in the future.

It doesn’t really misrepresent it. It shows you outdated pictures and move them very fast so you have the feeling it’s running smoothly.

If you can sync Passwords you are also more exposed than some unhandy secure local password storage.

Honestly, Apple was for years very anti-repair.

So the manuals are nice but that doesn’t absolve them for the decades of products designed to be hard to repair on purpose.

I won’t go full Rossmann but seriously Appol very bad when it comes to repairability and reliability. But they can release a few manuals and they are absolved for their bullshit?
