I think of marriage as a secular tradition.
I think most of us do, but enough of these fuckers don’t. They think of it as a religious thing deep in their core, and they have strong opinions based around that. My point is that it doesn’t really matter what it’s called, and since that seems to be one of the big hangups with many of the religious fuckers, “marriage” specifically being religious, just call it something else. What something is called is not the hill to die on with stupid people, and there’s enough of them that they can’t be ignored, so we work with what we have. Call it something else, get that new term recognized as an equal reference to marriage for benefits, and let’s finally fucking move on. Arguing with the religious about wording is a losing battle, many of them still think the Earth is like 5,000 years old and dinosaurs are fake. We’re losing a battle with idiots because we’re insisting on a specific terminology that they have a problem with.
Remove the state and federal incentives for marriage. The religious fucks care because they can’t comprehend marriage being a non-religious thing. But because there are real world advantages for being married, it creates a religious barrier that should be against the Constitution.
Most LGBTQ folks I know and have talked to don’t give a fuck what their acknowledged relationship is called as long as it’s recognized by the government for the incentives. If you remove all government incentives for married couples versus individuals, then the actual issue of citizens being denied rights based on religion goes away.

They could have spun this as a transparent way for Americans to see what products they are purchasing from overseas versus American. It would have still been filled with lies, but they could have made it sound like a good thing. Instead they just look like idiots and Amazon leadership just look like cowards. App Pinning DOES NOT lockdown the device, even if you have it set to require a PIN to unpin, biometrics still work to unlock the device.
It also gives you a warning that personal data may still be accessible and the pinned app can open other apps. It specifically says “Only use app pinning with people you trust”… which is the exact opposite of the use case here. And app pinning is turned off by default, you have go go searching in the settings to enable the ability.
This is the biggest issue I have with them. The only way this will work in modern society where the police can’t be trusted, is if the ID is accessible while the rest of the device is locked down.

To be honest, from experience with the general public selling and supporting phones since the beginning of the smartphone revolution, anything other than the built in option is more complicated than most people can handle. They just get overwhelmed and then do nothing.
Most people are completely willing to ignore that message and will then complain that they lost everything just because they didn’t pay the $1-2 a month upgrade that would have covered their storage needs with that built-in dummy-proof option that requires zero setup.
