Okay, but maybe specify that next time. The masses won’t buy used stuff unless prompted, and a blanket statement of ‘it’s okay to like Harry Potter’ without any nuance attached is just gonna give people permission to feel comfortable buying merch, games, Lego, other branded shit which goes directly to her pocket book.
But it isn’t when it comes to Harry Potter. The reason I made the comparison is that JK Rowling is also a billionaire using her wealth to influence legislation against trans people. They are more similar than they are different. Buying Harry Potter stuff puts money directly into her pockets to further her TERF goals.
Michael Jackson is a bit more gray.
So it’s okay to still like and want to buy a Tesla?
The second Apple rolled out face ID, I knew this tech was ready and waiting for forced ads
I personally think the company you choose to keep says a lot about you. There’s being polite with your partner’s friends and then there’s being all over someone like a bestie. It’s amazing how well her PR machine works that she gets white knighted so much, even on Lemmy. May I remind everyone that she is a billionaire and didn’t get to be one accidentally. She’s just as bad as the rest of them, she just pays people to make her seem not as threatening, and it’s clearly working based on all the free defense she gets on the internet.
She’s not your friend. Arguably, she’s Brittany Mahome’s friend.
Idk, the recent pic of her chummy day/night out with Brittany Mahomes planted quite a bit of doubt for me. There was a lot of speculation after those pictures released that she’d come out for Kamala, to get ahead of any backlash.
It is possible to replace them, with a little research. Or just taking them to a phone repair shop if you’re too anxious for that
This is great info, thank you so much! That definitely gives me more things to consider
Damn, that really sucks, I’m sorry :(
Very interesting, thanks!
I do agree that the lack of a headphone jack absolutely kills me. It’s a reason I haven’t pulled the trigger either way on a new phone yet. On the one hand, I want a secure degoogled phone that maintains a lot of functionality with GOS. On the other, I want a modern phone with a headphone jack a la Sony. I go back and forth constantly.
Have people forgotten about the used market? Buying things second hand is the way.
Why not buy a used one? I plan on picking one up from ebay or something.
Would you mind elaborating?
Fair enough!! Sometimes that’s all you need
Very cool question!!
-The Long Dark: I have hundreds of hours in this game across various platforms (maybe even a thousand-plus, all together?) and with the different settings to play with to change the difficulty in really interesting ways, I think I could easily sink another thousand. I’ll leave the DLC behind, though, thanks.
-Red Dead Redemption 2: My favorite game of all time, even just as a cowboy-themed hunting and poker sim. If Baldur’s Gate 3 and the stupid Guarma chapter didn’t exist, I’d say it would be a slamdunk for best game of all time, period. I’m not autistic, but if I had a special interest, this would be it; it literally inspired my son’s name.
-Elden Ring: In five years, maybe I could just figure out how to solo Malenia without cheesing my build, much less the final boss of the DLC :')
Nier is an interesting choice. After the first (complete) playthrough, I have never felt the need to revisit—except to make my husband play it.
But no one is investing billions into your dog’s shit, are they?
Again, the target audience loves that shit. I don’t know if you’ve watched a game lately, but most of the advertisements now are split pretty evenly between:
The NFL is a money-making machine, and it knows its audience. If they’re doing this, they know their base will eat it up, and I 100% agree. Many people who haven’t tuned in to a game in years will tune in to watch just to show support.
Truly, this is how fucked we are.
