Where is the Arab League to step up and help form a technocratic government? The strip will be demilitarized, the Israelis can’t be the ones doing that security though so where is Saudi or UAE et al helping out their brothers?

The Israelis have to agree to a 2 state solution. Pretty sure that Saudi, Egypt, Jordan and the US have this plan worked out.

Bibi needs to go. Israelis want a two state, the bigoted assholes running the place are the problem. The issue was worked out before he had his grip, it’s a shame it couldn’t have been met with openness by the Arabs at that time. Timing is everything, getting these groups synched is nearly impossible.

Imagine Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ever saying something like this. You can’t.

Which is why Trump would be worse for the people of Palestine.

      Yawn. Got anything else?

Your argument supposed we should just accept this out of the Biden administration because “Trump would be worse”…

You get that the argument you are making isn’t good enough, don’t you? There won’t be a Palestine in November. It’s irrelevant what or how Trump would be when Biden is as bad as it needs to be for the total destruction of the Palestinian people right now. Not at some future date, but right now.

Biden apologists for the US position on Israel and Palestinian are sustaining this genocide.

So you are good with the genocide of the Palestinian people as long as it’s in a Democrats watch. Just want to make sure I’ve got you right.

            “Yawn.” Strawman.

            Buddy, listen:

            • Whatever happens between now and November, it doesn’t change the fact that an election is going to occur in November. Further more, in that election Trump would be worse in quite literally every conceivable way, including for the people of Palestine / Gaza. Therefore nothing you said has any impact on my point in my comment.

            • Feel free to pressure Biden to do more for Palestine in the meantime; just try to comprehend that if Biden too quickly shifts to abandoning longtime support for Israel, he may ostracize an even-larger voting bloc of Jewish Americans who by the polling support Israel pretty vehemently (80%+). If you think politically he can jeopardize that group versus the smaller far-left and Palestinian segments of the population, you’d be wrong. He must toe the line between these two groups.

            • No matter how hard you try to shoehorn Biden being responsible for the Genocide in Gaza, as a convenient wedge-driving tactic for which right-wingers love you for – it’s not goin to work. Netanyahu is responsible. Period.

            • If Trump were in office right now, the fate of Gaza would’ve been even worse. Forget the fact that you seem 100% a-okay with Ukraine not getting any more assistance either.

Bro you are so delusional it’s impossible to know where to even start. First, you the right winger here in your support of the genocide of the Palestinian people.

Second, Biden is 💯 responsible for supporting Israel in their genocide of the Palestinian people. Netanyahu literally can’t do this thing without US support. Your support of Biden on this policy is a direct support of the genocide of the Palestinian people, full stop.

Being an apologist for genocide is a bad look, you should try something else.

So you’ve got no substantive rebuttal to my points. I’ll take that as an indirect concession, thank you. Keep chanting your little game in puritanical pyrrhic victory where you shoot one’s self (and Palestinians for that matter) in the foot.

Nah you just an ignorant rightwing edge lord masquerading as a leftist kid. You want to pretend that you know something about rhetoric with your disinterest in introspection but you’ve got a hard right stance on genocide. It’s just cover for your right wing views.

        What the FUCK

There’s a lot of useful nuance in that Guardian article; it’s not exactly that simple

        But also:

The Israeli prime minister said … “I told him that I hope we would do [Rafah] with US support but if necessary – we will do it alone.”

Promise? Because that sounds like a good step.

The US upholding its nominal commitment to international justice and hauling the appropriate leaders to The Hague sounds better, but Israel doing it alone if atrocity is this big a core value for them sounds like, at least, a step in the right direction.

Realistically we should stop funding them in general. But it’s become a great way for congressmen to get an unofficial pay bump. They vote to send money etc to Israel. Then Israel uses that money to “lobby” them.

Nuts how much money Israel is spending on smear campaigns for Democrats, especially progressive ones.
