      If he flees outside the borders of the US, does the Secret Service even have the authority or responsibility to protect him anymore?

    So the argument is, sitting president can not be sentenced, non-sitting president can not be sentenced, and whoever is running can not be sentenced until after the election - mind you, there’s ALWAYS an upcoming election.

    Wonder if courts will apply the same logic/standard to every felon. All future felons have to do is declare their run for president of the US. Thats the get out of jail card.

    Trump’s lawyer fails to get the judge to recuse himself because his daughter worked with Democrats in 2020

    Asks the judge to postpone sentencing (which was already postponed earlier) on the grounds of election interference on part of the judge

    I understand that these are worthwhile tactics, but the context of the motions make his lawyer look like a total fool.

  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
