Yes, this will be the final masterstroke where Democrats once again coopt Republican framing (or in this case, just Republicans themselves) and put the final nail in the MAGA coffin. Adam Kinzinger or whatever Never Trumper they tap isn’t tearing the Republicans apart. If you really think that’s going to happen because Democrats again adopt performative bipartisanship, you “don’t get politics”.
Cabinet seats matter, they’re not a performance or photo-op and putting a Republican in one will give you zero good will from Republicans. We’ve literally done this before. Hell, we’re still paying for the clap-back of appointing Garland, and he’s at least nominally a Democrat.
It’s not about good will from Republicans it’s about them falling over each other trying to find a way to stay relevant / in power while attacking each other.
