Though members strongly favored Trump over Harris in internal polls, the union opted not to make an endorsement.

Since their internal polling had most favoring drumpf, I guess this is a win for their leadership. They saw those polls and were like “yeah, but no.”

For those unaware of the numbers, the union’s internal vote had members breaking for Trump nearly 2:1. So I guess I hope they have fun when the leopard comes around for some face jerky.

Tangentially, I think Rush Limbaugh and other conservative radio commentators that flooded the airwaves for DECADES across the country are largely to blame. That was one of the “you can always find it anywhere in the US” sections of radio content for a very, very long time, and it corrupted the thinking of a LOT of people. Propaganda works, and it’s often very fucking scary when it does.

In Malala Yousafzai’s book, she credits the Taliban first getting into her community by coming through the radio. As an American, I’ve thought about that a lot over the years.

I’m a member of the labor union and the amount of my union brothers and sisters, who openly support anti union politicians is insane. It drives me nuts, last year at the summer BBQ the local conservative politician showed up and everyone was kissing his ass and taking selfies with him

Because the Teamsters, like many blue collar workers, are racist and sexist Trump supporters. It really doesn’t need to go farther than that.

Some? Yes. Far too many? Absolutely. All? Not even close. Most current Teamsters were still in grade school and kindergarten when Reagan broke the unions. As a group they’ve been through 40 plus years of mergers, consolidation, and closures. And are now facing down what looks like an inevitable Extinction in the face of automation. Yes the Republicans engineered it. Democrats of last 40 years helping every step of the way.

It’s still mental for them to be supporting republicans. But no one is offering them any salvation at all. Ultimately what’s more natural in the face of creeping capitalist Extinction then nihilism?

Then fuck you, morons. Trump and conservatives are hostile towards unions and collective bargaining so the only choice is Kamala.
