This follows a bombshell report last week which found that Robinson had posted racist and sexually explicit comments online.

Mike Lonergan, a campaign spokesperson, said in a statement late Friday night that the 56-year-old Robinson suffered second-degree burns during an “incident at a campaign appearance at the Mayberry Truck Show in Mt. Airy,” a city located near the border of North Carolina and Virginia.

Without further specific context, I just assumed this was a parody piece given the recent revelations.

Mt. Airy is Andy Griffith’s home town, and was the inspiration for Mayberry.

Going with flammable material for the hood was a poor choice. Not very breathable too.

Mark Robinson attended a truck show in Mt Airy NC tonight. He burned his hand leaning against a truck and was taken to the hospital. I’m told by an official source that he is fine and home now.
