Summary

Rep. Virginia Foxx, 81, slipped and fell on the marble staircase outside the House chamber on the first day of the 119th Congress.

She sustained minor injuries, including cuts, and sought treatment from the attending physician.

Foxx has represented North Carolina’s 5th district since 2005 and holds prominent conservative positions, including opposition to the Affordable Care Act and the Respect for Marriage Act.

The incident follows recent falls by other elderly lawmakers, sparking broader concerns about aging leadership in Congress.

This bitch wouldn’t let her neighbors move their cars through her property to relocate them by the road when their driveway washed out during hurricane Helene. She even had sheriffs come out to make sure there was no trespassing by the neighbors while lineman opened gates to access power lines. They had no other way to get their cars out. This is one on long list of ways she’s pissed on those she represents.

    A shame she didn’t die.

During her time in office, Foxx was one of the 11 members of Congress to vote against the $51 billion aid package to victims of Hurricane Katrina. She also introduced the Preserving Employee Wellness Programs Act in 2017.

She later voted against both articles of impeachment in 2019 for former President Donald Trump, with her also being one of the 147 Republican lawmakers who objected to the certification of electoral votes from the 2020 presidential election on January 6, 2021.

Foxx is an opponent of the Affordable Care Act, saying that “we have more to fear from the potential of the Affordable Health Care for America Act passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country.” In 2022, Foxx voted against the Respect for Marriage Act to codify same-sex and interracial marriage rights federally.

If you are over the age of retirement, you should not be allowed to run for elected offices. Stop electing dinosaurs. It doesn’t matter what side of the political spectrum you fall on, forced retirement of all qualified members of Congress needs to happen.

It could also be conveniently solved by implementing term limits. Most of these dinosaurs have been politicians longer than they’ve done any real job.

Oh no, an old fuck who opposes health care and marriage equality fell down. I hope it hurt ☺️

How many of our politicians are old enough to draw social security? This is just fucking pathetic.
