The LCD was able to be woken from sleep by any Bluetooth controller… Though today I saw there’s an update that re-disabled this function. So I didn’t apply it.

0·2 months agoNo, the country is on fire sale. They’re loading up to head to greener pastures. Destroying US flight means that an alternative they’ve invested in can rise. Just wait until ATC globally is done in Chinese instead, then it’ll make sense.
Sorry to Steven but with a last name like that, you gotta work to get me to trust you. If Jesus came back as a Prager, I’d be the first to sell his ass for a shekel.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•[Discussion] What's something that has improved your Deck experience?
4·5 months agoI used a Dell Thunderbolt dock to dock my Steam Deck with my third monitor at work, so when it gets slow I can play with my Dualsense I keep in the drawer at work.
It hasn’t been slow in a while but when it was, oh boy, I made some progress in my games.

2·6 months agoSwitch 2 carts are reportedly only 64GB in size and cost $16 USD per unit.
Nintendo only makes one size and then game key cards. It’s an artificial cap, as there’s already larger SD Express cards too.

2·6 months ago“This is one of the new software distribution methods we have introduced to accommodate the larger game data sizes on Switch 2 compared to Switch,” he explained.
“Software can be released in various formats, and we will continue to work closely with software publishers on many fronts to ensure that they actively support our platform.”
Planned to deal with ‘larger’ games, yeah, that’s why Bravely Default used it. It’s so big.
Make smaller, cheaper Carts available to publishers.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•What are your favorite accessories for the steam deck?
4·1 year agoThe Mechanism Deckmate, mostly with the Kickstand attached.
I also use it to attach a portable battery and the Kickstand to find comfortable gaming angles and while I’m charging it.
Other than that, I’ve got a pair of KSC75s to wear when I need them (I mostly just play my games muted anyway) and I guess the hall effect Gullikit sticks might count since my left stick developed drift.

In reality, I love the belly stand.

8·1 year agoI remember Green Steam on dialup. The steam loading bar frolicking across the screen, left AND sometimes right. No “offline” mode. And, of course, being the only way to play Half Life 2.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Junk Store (for installing Epic and GoG games on the Deck) is hopefully coming to Steam store
13·1 year agoThis is a very tough question. Ask yourself, what is it worth and what value does this add to the user experience?
Like, I like the idea of the project. I’m not even mad they aren’t doing it for free but, like, fuck Man…
“We have not solidified a price point yet.”
Or something. “What value does this add”? Is Steam gonna allow me to decide what I want to pay like itch.io or something? Fuck, that feels like such a “we want to charge the absolute most we can with good intentions we promise,” statement.

0·1 year agoBut that’s your store. Vance was saying Eggs were $4 while standing in front of a sign saying “Eggs $2.99” and complaining about egg prices in the area, while blaming Harris for making eggs $4.
He could’ve stood in front of the $2.99 sign to only show the more expensive eggs. He could’ve gone to a “higher end” store to find those $7 eggs. He could’ve just stood in a different part of the store. But his crew looked at the backdrop and said “eh, go for it.” and did.
Harris isn’t responsible for the price of eggs anyway. There’s no “Vice Presidential Office of Egg Prices” she presides over.

0·1 year agoTell that to the Veteran legally open carrying in Texas who was shot by an asshole who felt threatened. The asshole was pardoned.
For completeness, the asshole was also in the Army but that’s mostly unrelated to his racism and murder of a fellow Servicemember.

Technology@lemmy.world•Palworld maker vows to fight Nintendo lawsuit on behalf of fans and indie developersEnglish
0·1 year agoThe ludicrousness is the point. “Capture a creature in a ball”… How close is that to Red Dead’s lasso? Could Nintendo patent capturing a creature with a rope? Does anyone hold that patent yet? No, it would be silly to try to patent something like that - yet at one point I’m certain it was someone’s “technique” while everyone else was jumping on the horses back like Breath of the Wild.

Technology@lemmy.world•Palworld maker vows to fight Nintendo lawsuit on behalf of fans and indie developersEnglish
0·1 year agoImagine if you had a hammer and decided to use it to hit a nail and then someone came along and said “I see you’re using my method to build a house! Pay up!”
Well, you can’t patent something like that!
Imagine you open up a game engine, any engine, and decide you need to point to an objective so you decide to use an arrow. A game company says “You’re using our method to identify objectives! Pay up!” and that one is a unique mechanic?
How long has humanity been using arrows to point to things? How can you patent it just because it’s a digital arrow?

0·1 year agoFrom my experiences it goes more like this “In an ideal world, we’d behave this way. We’re not in an ideal world though and your competitors have no problem doing this so you should know what to do, in case the market determines it’s the best course.” with a knowing wink thrown in.
I had no early warnings. I woke up one morning with blurred vision after a bad cold, went to the doctor, had a 600 blood sugar, A1C of 12.1, and they had me admitted.
Upon further introspection, constipation.
