"She knows the filibuster is the Holy Grail of democracy. It’s the only thing that keeps us talking and working together. If she gets rid of that, then this would be the House on steroids," he says

Republicans can endorse Harris all day long and I’m here for it.

Manchin endorsing Harris would have actually done her a disservice.

Fuck Joe “This is the best we can hope for” Manchin.

And fuck the system that makes him the best we can hope for.

West Virginia used to be cool.

Idk, seeing as it was created by separating from Virginia as to not be in the Confederacy in 1863 - that seems pretty cool to me

Whatever he needs to do to get elected to avoid Republican control of the Senate. Yeah it’ll suck if he is one of the saviors of the filibuster. But it’ll suck more if Republicans are in charge of the Senate.

I’d seen the quote, but not the withholding of endorsement. Well, I guess he’s going to join the ‘both sides bad’ crowd.

Still. What does his opinion matter? He’s leaving the Senate next year so his proper alt-Right replacement can take over…

Holy Grail? An item given no special meaning in the Bible, and was blown out of proportion in importance by fiction writers a thousand years later? I guess Manchin doesn’t really think the filibuster is too important then.

The fact that Biden called for this exact same thing and Manchin was ok endorsing him but has to make a big scene when a non-white woman calls for doing the same thing basically tells you everything you need to know about Manchin

SS or Gestapo would be more accurate, not saying the Wehrmacht was clean just that the SS and Gestapo were the direct enforcers.

The way you said this made me think of like an underfunded and understaffed Gestapo and SS. Which is a rather amusing thought, “Verdamnit Hans we need to round up the degenerates but Klein was hit by a fucking car and we dont have enough people to cover his fucking shift”.
