That is why AOC is there on the ticket. VPs exist to take over if the president kicks the bucket.

Bluntly, we need good people in office. While I definitely support reforms to force age and term limits on our politicians, that can only happen if good people are willing to change the system. The system is currently run by corrupt and fossilized politicians who won’t permit change. Getting good people into office is required for positive change.

This takes time, one where a Bernie-AOC presidency can enable. Bernie and AOC, unlike the likes of Pelosi, will allow younger and progressive people to take leadership roles throughout government. It will take at least 10 years to replace the old guard - a two term progressive presidency just isn’t enough for that sort of generational shift.

If Bernie is to be elected in 2028 he’ll be 91 by the end of his term. If he continues in 2032, he’ll be 95. That is far too fucking old to be a politician. I know his view is what USA needs and has needed for a long time, but it’s far too little too late. The window for Bernie to be president was 2016, and the american people and the democratic party fucked that up. It’s time to move on.

Instead you do exactly what they’re doing now. Bernie uses his influence with the people to give AOC a platform to make her his protege for 2028. He’s currently putting her out there as a voice of reason, and passing the torch to her.
