That there will be no turning point. Once the mechanisms for fascism have been established, unless an actual revolution happens, the next government will always abuse them.

I don’t think it matters. Democrats aren’t gonna seize power and be like “Oh, my God! Would you look at all these mechanisms to abuse power! Better get rid of them!”

Not until after he dies

Oh, buddy. You’re in the wrong stem of this conversation. I said in my very first comment that I had no interest in being a part of the actual discussion and I was just complaining about the phrasing used. If you wanted to be part of the actual conversation, you should have picked literally any other comment to reply to.
What I’m saying is, you went to a court house and starting arguing your case to the hobo sleeping on the steps. Can’t say that’s on the hobo.

That… doesn’t address my claim at all. A plant can have a million stems, if you wish. We’re taking about a single stem, which comes from somewhere. If all of it comes from one place, it cannot also come from another.

The “stem” is the thing itself, not the thing it stems from. A stem can’t come from two places.

If “all of it” stems from one thing, it can’t “all of it” stem from another thing. I’m not arguing for either, I’m just uppity about logic.

Open source doesn’t care about libre software.

Only when convenient and if it’s not from a reputable source. I will audit random projects on Github but I’m not fucking auditing Firefox.

You might also need to add
set(CMAKE_POSITION_INDEPENDENT_CODE ON)
to the CMakeLists to get it to compile.
Such is life.

Other than SteamOS on my SteamDeck, no but I was considering making the switch to Kinoite.

I don’t think they mean necessarily handhelds but definitely console-like machines. Like the OG steam machines.

I actually like immutable OSes exactly because most people do have a habit of blowing up their computers.

Ever. It’s not a desktop OS.

Make the switch to Linux, by all means but I don’t think you should use SteamOS as a desktop OS.

Windows 11 is to Windows 10 what XP was to 2000. Stop it.
Macsimize6 or something like that
The current landscape of gaming is so foreign to me. Gaming for me has always been an experience to get lost in a fantasy world — something akin to reading. Nowadays everyone seems obsessed with the online and competitive sides of it. It feels like you can’t have a conversation about videogames without someone bringing up Fortnite and the new skins they unlocked by treating it as a job.
