The president of the right-wing group spearheading Project 2025 raised the specter of violence Tuesday against those who refuse to capitulate to what he characterized as “the second American Revolution” ushered in by presumptive GOP nominee and would-be authoritarian Donald Trump.

Kevin Roberts, head of the Heritage Foundation, said in an appearance on “Real America’s Voice” that the coming “revolution” will “remain bloodless if the left allows it to be”—a thinly veiled threat against those who resist the far-right’s efforts to seize power.

Trump said in April that whether there is violence surrounding the 2024 presidential election “depends” on the “fairness” of the contest and the outcome.

Watch Roberts’ remarks:

“We are going to win. We’re in the process of taking this country back,” declared Roberts, who has said Project 2025 is “institutionalizing Trumpism” in preparation for a possible victory in November.

It would be great if the US could join reality with the rest of the developed world at some point. FFS, America. You’re not doing well.

Indeed. This country is so rigged to favor the cons due to how unevenly things are tilted to the rural areas and giving them far too much of a voice. The cons are WAY over-represented in Congress and a con has not won the popular vote in how long?

Honestly. It would be nice if a former fascist government sent troops to liberate us. Germany, want to return the favor we did you back in the 1940s? We need the help, and maybe you can prevent a new Holocaust. Now, I’ll grant that it will be tougher, as we are a nuclear power and nuclear powers can pretty much do what they want on the world stage. You guys didn’t have those when we came along and cleared out your fascists. Don’t worry, though. If you do send a force to liberate us, I’ll comply with all their orders and give them whatever assistance they need.

Yeah, lemme just get our 30 functipning helicopters and ask the tankers if they can come up with more than 100 leopards. Maybe we’ll find some. Aaaand can you borrow us some guns? Our G-36 gets all inaccurate and jammy when hot.

It’s a good thing we have a President who understands that if he DOESN’T grow a Spine his entire Family will be Executed by the King Of The United States!

And our suicide and domestic violence rates. Plus all the gang violence. The nerve of a European to say we don’t use our guns.

What’s going to be infuriating is when the killing starts, so many people will act like this was unavoidable.

    Remember being gaslit in 2016?

It was unavoidable, because nobody in a position to do anything about it was willing to avoid it.

We were set on this path in 2015 when the court ruled that the DNC is entirely within its rights to rig the primary. They chose not to run the most popular politician in the country because it was “Her Turn”, and in so doing gave the Presidency to Trump.

Everything that has occurred since then could never have happened any other way. The backlash to Trump that put Biden in office despite pulling another fuckery on Bernie, and now the red wave of greivance against a “stolen election” that will give us Trump again.

What’s infuriating is that, for the first time in a decade, I can’t predict the political future anymore. I’m not even willing to bet we’ll have elections in 2028, much less who the winners will be.

Biden was never the candidate who was going to make bold moves and enact the kind of change required to start to fix systemic problems . On his boldest day he could never have conceived anything like the New Deal and if he did it would be too terrified of rocking the boat to move on it. Biden was always just the safest way to beat Trump. And old white guy. The army of pointless op Ed writers wouldn’t have any oxygen to write breathless speculative articles about whether the country is ready for a woman/black/___ president. Not breaking any barriers. Safe. That’s it. He has done a lot of good work, but he is at his best uninspiring.

Bernie was never going to win. Whatever the hypothetical polls show, whatever fuckery the DNC did, he was never going to win. The same country that elected Trump could never elect Bernie, it’s simply not possible. Bernie actually cares about making people’s lives better - he’s fought for it his whole life. He was with the civil rights movement. He was fighting along side gay rights activists way before it became mainstream. The American electorate as a whole doesn’t deserve him.

I’m ready to hear what the Joint Chiefs of the US military have to say about this. They stepped in to lend some clarity a couple of times in 2020 when bullshit was getting too flagrantly unconstitutional, to remind everyone of the military’s oath to uphold the Constitution regardless of who is in command (they also officially stated that Biden was commander in chief in Jan. 2021)

We all hope it doesn’t come to that, but please arm yourselves and train with your weapons. Get a cheap AR in 5.56/.223, and a pistol in 9mm. These are very common calibers. At least as important as that, make sure you know some people you can trust in your community. Do it now while you can. Guns and ammo will get more expensive as we get closer to the election.

Not only are they in the process of openly subverting the Constitution of the United States, they are openly calling for violence. When declared powerful adversaries call for violence publicly, every option is on the table. Collective self defense may be necessary, and they may yet regret it.

Call me naive if you like but that doesn’t seem like a direct threat to me. It sounds like him playing into the violent antifa caricature of a leftist they’re always going on about. He’s saying they’re going to win peacably but are prepared to defend their liberties if the evil leftists force them to. At least I think that’s how most of the people he’s trying to reach with those comments would interpret them.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think guys like him have any problem with using violence as a means to achieve their goals, and this is very likely part of the plan to plant the seeds of violence in people’s minds. I just don’t think this is him being so blunt as to state that they want to execute political opponents outright. I could certainly be wrong about that but I don’t think that will happen until they’re already doing it.

People should organize and vote…but you should also be arming yourself now if you don’t have a plan to leave the U.S. These assholes want a war, but they will be content with a slaughter if nobody fights back.

One thing to keep in mind is if these chucklefucks torch the economy then the capital class will hang them out to dry. One big strike would end every single one of their ambitions. Arming yourselves won’t do it, you gotta organize.

You can’t pay soldiers and police when you have no tax revenue.
